Hello!
I'm Charlotte "Lottie" Morthorpe, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve as this year's wilderness intern! I just completed my first year at the University of Montana, studying Parks, Tourism, and Recreation Management. This internship is allowing me the chance to explore future career options with the National Park Service, as well as gain unmatched skills and experience. After graduation next spring, my goal is to gain employment with the NPS or with state parks back home in Alaska. No matter what the future holds for me, I know this summer will be a life changing experience that I will look back on with so much fondness and gratitude. I have worked in a variety of fields, from the US Air Force, to mental health, and both trail crew and administrative roles for Alaska State Parks. Throughout the years, I have always dreamed of working with the NPS and finally worked up the courage to move to Montana and make it happen. I am blown away that the dream has come true so soon! I have already learned so much after the completion of my first week and I cannot wait to see what's next!
